The Story of Calc Bowl 2024

Calc Bowl 2024 took off on April 12 at Legend High School in Parker, Colorado. There were 19 teams competing.

Thanks to support from Northrop Grumman Corporation, Douglas County Schools, and volunteers from Northrop Grumman, Augustus Aerospace Co and Douglas County Public Schools. Thanks also to teachers and parents who supported their students in the Bowl!

Schools represented at Calc Bowl 2024 were:

Castle View High School (Castle Rock)

Cheyenne Mountain High School (Colorado Springs)

Legend High School (Parker)

Liberty Common High School (Fort Collins)

Palmer Ridge High School (Monument)

STEM School (Highlands Ranch)

Thunder Ridge High School (Highlands Ranch)

Vista Ridge High School (Colorado Springs)


The Bowl consists of around 200 challenging calculus questions presented in quiz-show style to the students. For samples, please see the Calc Bowl General Info tab, Practice Problems. Questions are taken from or patterned after AP Calculus exams and in difficulty range from easy to stump-the-Prof.


Calc Bowl 2024 winners were:


1st place and 2024 Calculus Bowl Champions - Sine of the Times, Cheyenne Mountain High School, teacher: Elke Donovan

2nd place - Limit as W Goes To Us, Thunder Ridge High School, teacher: Tory Mansfield

3rd Place - Integirls +C, Cheyenne Mountain High School, teacher: Elke Donovan

Honorable Mention - Alpha Mu Sigma, Thunder Ridge High School, teacher: Tory Mansfield

Honorable Mention - Calc Bears, Palmer Ridge High School, teacher: Karen Nelson
